Travel is the art of exploring new places, which usually means trying out new experiences – whether that’s detoxing at a wellness spa, sampling the fine dining at a new restaurant or finally getting your hands on a product you’ve always been looking for.
We’ve scoured the globe and found four things worth checking out this June – from a thermal spa in Milan and a Parisian bistro in the heart of Hong Kong, to a new emulsion-based cleanser from Aesop and a hip lifestyle and design showroom in Mumbai.

Designed in the 1920s, this former royal stable has been restored and given a new identity as Italy’s largest – and Milan’s first – urban thermal spa. De Montel – Terme Milano has 10 pools fed by mineral-rich water from 400 metres below ground, 15 treatment rooms to enjoy mud wraps and scrubs inside and elegant spaces for relaxation, from the bistro to the garden. A basic entry pass grants access to all thermal facilities, including four European-inspired saunas, a tepidarium and a hammam.
After years of trial and error, Aesop has developed its first everyday body cleanser with a cream-like texture. The emulsion-based Eleos Nourishing Body Cleanser strikes a balance between cleansing, hydrating and softening your skin, and is ideal for drier skin types. Emollients such as shea butter will leave you feeling soothed, while essential oils from cedar atlas and patchouli impart a woody scent.
Parisian-style bistro Jean-Pierre has opened its doors in Central, Hong Kong. Here, you can expect a setting and ambience in which food is the starting point, rather than the focus. Relish beloved classics, including steak tartare, onion soup, sole meunière and profiteroles, while relaxing in a laidback atmosphere punctuated by clinking glasses and drifting laughter. The latest venture by leading hospitality group Black Sheep, the restaurant also hosts a cocktail bar and outdoor terrace.

Mumbai has unveiled a new luxury design showroom that promises a uniquely immersive retail experience. Nilaya Anthology showcases home decor and collectibles from around the world – from Ghanaian grass baskets to Japanese textiles to Dutch chairs. The vast space also features a lush green area (or “orangery”) that leads into a central gallery where you’ll find couches and candleholders as well as colourful tableware, antiques and handmade ceramics.
