The autumn and winter seasons are a time of reunion, from Thanksgiving feasts with close friends to family get-togethers over the winter holidays. Food is an essential part of any festivity and celebrating diverse flavours has been an important tenet of our dining proposition – whether inflight or through collaborations with the city’s most renowned chefs and restaurants.
From 15 November to 31 December this year, we’ve partnered with a wide range of restaurants to present our debut Cathay Culinary Fest – creating occasions to share with your loved ones.
You’ll find some of the city’s best restaurants across five different categories on our roster this season. From Asian delights like retro-chic hotpot at Victorian Era or a sumptuous Indian feast at Bombay Dreams , to bubble tea at Mother Pearl or elevated Italian delights at Lucciola Restaurant & Bar and more, all feature exclusively curated menus for our members by some of the city’s best culinary minds.
Cathay members will be able to earn miles when you present your Cathay membership QR code at a rate of HKD2 = 1 for every meal they eat at a partner restaurant. Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard® holders earn up to HKD4 = 3 when paying with their credit card.
On top of that, during the campaign period, members will be able to earn a one-time additional 1,000 for making three transactions at participating restaurants. If you haven’t had the opportunity to dine at any of our partner restaurants, you’ll also be welcomed into the fold with a bonus 500 for your first dining transaction during the Cathay Culinary Fest. Not a Cathay member yet? Simply sign up and dine at any participating restaurant to earn 500 for your first dining transaction with us.
Ready to start feasting? You’ll be able to book and explore all participating restaurants online when Cathay Culinary Fest kicks off on November 15. For a little taster, we’ve put together a guide to some restaurant highlights for every occasion.
Enter Gonpachi and you’ll be transported to a world of Japanese spectacles, where the theatrical art of kabuki is honoured throughout the moody restaurant. Named after a kabuki protagonist, tradition is at the heart of this cosy spot where airy soba is hand-pounded by its chefs and tempura and kushi skewers are piled high on plates. Sushi lovers should order the chive and sea-urchin topped negitoro bowl, where expertly minced tuna sits on a bed of sushi rice.

Situated with a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour, you’d think you’d fill up quick on the gratifying vista alone (perfect for sunset cocktail hour), but this stylish steakhouse offers the classic grill experience with a touch of French finesse. Enjoy stunning dry- or wet-aged steaks with cuts sourced around the world, or a lighter menu on the terrace, all best paired with an expertly shaken cocktail or a glass of sommelier-recommended wine.

With various rooms themed after classic Bond cars, tropical mission locations and even a chessboard-themed private room, its elegant playfulness translates through in its menu. Expect twists on tradition with decadent options like abalone fried rice, garlicky stir-fried wagyu beef and the quintessential baked pork chop – upgraded with a cut of Iberico pork, tangerine peel and a bright pesto sauce.

Founded in 1920, Giovanni Pina brings over a hundred years of Italian pastry masterwork to the world. Now with numerous outposts across the city, the family owned pasticceria has third-generation chef-owner Giovanni Pina (bearing the same name as the brand) at its helm – serving his family’s world-famous millefoglie, the Saint Honore cake and other assorted cakes and tarts for all occasions. Savour satisfying pastas, risottos, steaks and afternoon tea sets at the restaurant, and don’t forget to end with something sweet together with a classic Milanese coffee.
