    What’s the deal?

Opening in December last year, The Tokyo Edition, Ginza marks the brand’s second property in Japan, with sister hotel The Tokyo Edition, Toranomon just 3km away.

This newly appointed Edition hotel boasts an exceptionally privileged location in the heart of Ginza district, putting you just steps away from prestigious luxury boutiques and prominent retail destinations such as Ginza Six and Mitsukoshi Department Store. The location proves particularly appealing for luxury shopping enthusiasts, while weekend visitors can delight in the area’s transformation into a pedestrian paradise when the main street is closed to vehicles.

    Why stay?

This 14-storey boutique hotel showcases the masterful interior design of renowned architect Kengo Kuma, who has achieved an exemplary fusion of Edition’s characteristic New York sophistication and Japanese traditional craftsmanship.

The double-height lobby and bar area create a bold first impression and have become a meeting point for the city’s social set, with a golden bar counter, ivory-white armchairs and traditional Japanese folding screens.

An ambiance of understated luxury is achieved across the 86 rooms and suites, each featuring walnut timber floors and wall detailing, bespoke travertine furnishings and cream leather upholstery.

The uppermost floor houses Sophie at Edition , a light-filled restaurant distinguished by its exceptional cuisine and seasonal, regionally sourced ingredients – we loved the roasted blue lobster. Rooftop bar The Roof is Ginza’s premier destination for natural wines, offering us spectacular views of the city and Tokyo Tower while we savoured our libations.

    Don’t miss

Ascending the lobby’s spiral staircase to the mezzanine that houses Edition’s signature cocktail bar, Punch Room. It exudes sophistication with comfortable seating and sparkling crystal lighting, enhanced by live DJ performances. The venue specialises in Japanese-inspired cocktails, offering unique drinks crafted with sake, genmaicha and Japanese whisky, making for an enchanting evening that perfectly complements any Tokyo sojourn.
