Application of Advanced Technologies
Emily enrolled in Private EV Motor Car Insurance Plan (comprehensive plan).
While using the auto-parking technology in her electric vehicle recently, Emily experienced a minor collision with another car during the parking maneuver. She also needed to send her EV to the garage for repairs.
Coverage highlights:
- Protection for damage caused to her electric car and third-party property when using the technology;
- Temporary substitute vehicle or taxi expense reimbursement while the car is under repair;
- HKD1,000 benefit if the repair cannot be completed in 14 days, provided that she hasn't claimed towards temporary substitute vehicle or taxi expense reimbursement.

2 New for old compensation: (i) the loss occurs within the first 12 months of the first registration of the Motor Car with the Transport Department; (ii) the first registration of the Motor Car with the Transport Department must be made within 12 months from the date of manufacture thereof. The Insured must be the first registered owner. Terms and conditions apply.
3 Only apply to the first and second registration of the car with the Transport Department and that the registration must be made within twelve months from the date of manufacture and insured's estimated value of the electric vehicle must be at least the new replacement value (reasonable market value for brand new same make and model EV) of the motor car at the time of effective date. Please refer to policy wording for details.
4 The technologies must be installed by the motor car manufacturer and approved by the Transport Department.
5 When temporary substitute vehicle or reimbursement of taxi expense are not requested.
