    Cathay City / Cathay House Conditions of Entry and Visitor Information

    At Cathay, safety and security excellence are the cornerstones of our continued success. We are committed to providing a safe, healthy and secure environment for everyone. To maintain this standard, we kindly request all visitors to read, understand, and comply with our Conditions of Entry and Visitor Information. These materials contain important guidance, including security standards, first aid and fire emergency procedures, and must be followed at all times throughout the visit.

    Definitions

    Company’ means Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and/or its subsidiaries, and where the context requires shall also include the personnel of the Company.

    'Premises’ means any and all facilities owned or managed by the Company.

    'Visitor’ includes any individuals who enter the Premises for a specific, temporary purpose, as well as all contractors, tenants, suppliers and delivery personnel.

    you’ or ‘your’ refers to you, or any person with you, including any dependents or children under your supervision.

    Access Cards

    Visitors might be issued 1. Access Card or 2. Visitor Permit and a QR Code, depending on the type of access required to enter designated locations on the premises:

    • The access card is to be solely used to access areas as assigned.
    • You must display the card prominently on the front and upper portion of your outer clothing at all times.
    • Do not attempt to gain access into areas that you are not authorised to enter.
    • Do not enter the Premises for activities other than the purpose authorised by the Company.
    • Do not lend or allow your card to be used by others.
    • Present your card to the Company or building management security staff upon request.
    • Keep your card secure to avoid loss or damage.

    Returning the Card:

    • Return the card / permit to the Company’s reception desk at the main entrance immediately upon expiry or when it is no longer in use.
    • A charge of HK$200 will be levied if the card / permit is not returned to the Company’s reception desk, or if the card is damaged, defaced or lost.

    In the event the access card is lost, immediately contact the Company’s reception desk for further instructions.

    Personal Belongings

    You are responsible for the security of your own belongings while on the Premises and you must not at any time leave any bag, equipment or other personal items unattended. Furthermore, you must not bring on to the Premises any personal belongings that may pose any risk of injury to people or damage to property.

    While you are on the Premises, the Company reserves the right to:

    • inspect your personal belongings;
    • require your personal belongings to be stored in designated areas; and
    • exclude or remove any of your personal belonging from the Premises.

    For any equipment, including electrical appliances and tools that are brought on site, ensure they are in a suitable condition and are used in a safe manner. Correctly position the equipment and avoid trailing cables to eliminate the risk of trips and falls.

    Behaviour and Responsibilities

    Visitors shall not while on the Premises:

    • Behave or act in any manner that may interfere with, or pose risk to, the health and safety of any other person on the Premises.
    • Behave or act in any manner that may cause damage to any property.
    • Behave or act in a disorderly or offensive manner.
    • Interfere with, damage or destroy any tree, plant, grass, building or other property within the Premises.
    • Consume any alcohol or tobacco products within the Premises other than in such areas which are designated for that purpose by the Company.
    • Consume or have in your possession any illegal substance.
    • Bring or cause any animal to enter the Premises. (With the exception of registered Service Animals)
    • Register additional visitors without authorisation from the Company.
    • Bring into, or possess within, the Premises any firearm, explosive substance or offensive weapon.
    • Use any camera or video or sound recording device for commercial purposes without the Company’s prior written consent.
    • Light any fire or deposit any litter or create any nuisance within the Premises.
    • Fail or neglect to comply with any direction or requirement of the Company.
    • Display any sign, poster or image or offer any goods or article for sale without the Company’s prior written consent.

    First Aid

    For minor injuries, first aid kits are located inside pantries on all levels in Cathay City Cathay House, as well as outside the elevators in the Flight Training Centre. A list of first aiders is also available next to the first aid kit if assistance is required.

    In the event of serious medical emergencies, please contact:

    • Cathay City clinic on 9138-9306 or 2747-2954 during office hours; or
    • Ambulance services on 999 at Cathay House or when outside office hours.

    Please inform the Facilities Management Office on 2747 4916 of the event, who can then assist in directing the first aider and ambulance to the scene.

    *Numerous Automated External Defibrillator (AED) are installed at various locations in Cathay City and Cathay House, one of which is located at the reception. Inform the Facilities Management Office if it is needed.

    Fire and emergency

    On discovering a fire On hearing the alarm
    • Break glass of the fire alarm call point to activate the fire alarm.
    • Do not attempt to extinguish the fire unless it is safe to do so.
    • Follow the evacuation plan below.
    • Evacuate the building through the nearest fire exit in a calm and orderly manner.
    • Do not use the elevator to evacuate.
    • Close any doors that you pass through but do not lock them.
    • Proceed to the assembly point.
    • Do not return to the building or leave the assembly point until further notice.

    Fire Assembly Points

    In an emergency, proceed to Fire Assembly Point located adjacent to “New Niki” at the entrance to Cathay City, or on Tung Fai Road if you are at the Cathay House.

    Smoking

    Cathay City is designated as a smoke-free working environment and all areas within the boundary of the building complex are marked as “smoke free” areas. There are three designated smoking areas within the Premises and they are located at:

    1. The forecourt between Lion Rock Café and Dakotas, accessible from the Street, far south end;
    2. On the ground floor, accessible through the carpark to the rear side of the building; and
    3. Adjacent to the loading bay at the north end of Cathay City.

    Accessibility

    Buildings are designed to be as accessible as possible to offer a barrier free environment. Power-assist transport devices are available in certain areas within the building. Please contact the Facilities Management Office if assistance is needed.

    If you bring any children under the age of 18 on to the Premises, you must ensure that all such children are under the supervision of a responsible adult (18 years of age or older) at all times.

    Refusal of Entry

    The Company reserves the right to refuse entry by any person (including an item of that person):

    • not authorised by the Company or in the Company’s opinion does not comply with these Conditions of Entry;
    • deemed by the Company to be intoxicated and/or disorderly;
    • who failed to comply with these Conditions of Entry or any other policy of, or instruction given by, the Company;
    • who has the potential to cause injury, nuisance or damage to property; and/or
    • the Company determines to be inappropriate or undesirable at the sole discretion of the Company.

    Any person who breaches these Conditions of Entry whilst on the Premises shall automatically have their permission to enter and remain on the Premises revoked and shall leave the Premises immediately upon request by the Company.

    Liability

    You enter the Premises at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company will not be responsible for any loss, damage, harm or injury arising from or in connection with your entry and visit to the Premises.

    Privacy Statement

    We collect, use and disclose personal information in accordance with our Privacy Statement.

    Amendment to Conditions of Entry

    These Conditions of Entry may be amended, deleted or supplemented by the Company from time to time when deemed necessary at the Company’s sole discretion, including to ensure compliance with relevant standards, as well as to protect the interest of all employees and Visitors.
