Severe Tropical Storm Tapah is affecting Hong Kong
Ultimo aggiornamento: 08 Sep 2025 13:00 HKT (GMT+8)
Tropical Storm Tapah is currently affecting our flight schedule into and out of Hong Kong.
The extended and stronger than expected weather conditions at Hong Kong International Airport this morning have resulted in nine passenger flight diversions and a number of delays and flight cancellations.
We’re continually monitoring the weather forecast for the rest of today, 8 September. As heavy rain and strong crosswinds associated with the tropical storm continue to be unpredictable, further short notice changes to our schedule may be necessary. We sincerely apologise to our customers in advance for any potential disruption to their journey.
We kindly ask customers to ensure their contact details are up to date in their booking to receive the latest updates. We also recommend that all customers check the status of their flight before coming to the airport.
For our customers whose flights are cancelled, or connections missed due to a delay, diversion and cancellation, we’ll automatically rebook them onto the next available flight and send their new flight details via email and via the Cathay Pacific app. Customers can also view their new arrangements in Manage Booking.
For customers who have not yet started their journey, we’re offering full flexibility to rearrange their journey. View our special ticketing guidelines for further information.
