Upcoming changes to Status Points and Asia Miles earnings on flights

As part of our regular updates to our Cathay membership programme, we’re refining our distance zones and adjusting the Status Points and Asia Miles you can earn on Cathay Pacific flights. Taking effect on 20 August 2025, these updates include both increases and decreases and are designed to better align with your travel choices, offering greater recognition for flexible fare types and premium cabins.

• You’ll earn more Status Points and Asia Miles when flying First class, Business or Premium Economy, as well as on certain Economy fares for selected regional routes.
• Most Economy Essential and Flex earnings remain unchanged, while Economy Light will earn slightly fewer Status Points and Asia Miles.

How will these changes influence your upcoming journeys?

• Departures before 20 August: Existing earnings apply.
• Tickets issued before 20 August for travel on or after that date: You’ll earn either the existing or new earnings – whichever is higher*.
• Tickets issued on or after 20 August: New earnings apply.

*Please allow up to 30 calendar days after your flight for any applicable shortfall adjustments to be processed. Our team will handle this automatically – no action is required on your part.
