Legal safety requirements
In order to meet the safety requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration and the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, passengers with mobility issues which make it unsafe to facilitate aircraft evacuations will not be given a seat in a location where they would obstruct emergency exits, impede the crew in their duties, obstruct access to emergency equipment, or hinder aircraft evacuation. Furthermore, Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon do not specifically limit the number of Passengers with Reduced Mobility (PRM) on our flights. In compliance with CAD 800, Passengers with Reduced Mobility (PRMs) will only be refused air transport for reasons which are justified on the grounds of flight safety or cabin safety.
