Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong
The Mandarin has been welcoming guests to the heart of Central since 1963, back when it was the tallest building in the city. Though the skyline may have changed, the Mandarin’s status as a hospitality icon endures. The Murray, Hong Kong
With an enviable location on Cotton Tree Drive, The Murray was once a government office building; in 2018 it was painstakingly transformed by architectural firm Foster + Partners, and reopened as a hotel. With its famous arched entryway that has appeared in hundreds of wedding photos, a tree-filled courtyard and abundant al fresco dining options, The Murray is a sanctuary in the beating heart of the city.
The Peninsula Hong Kong
From the fleet of gleaming Rolls-Royces at its entrance to the legendary afternoon teas and live jazz band in its gilded lobby, The Peninsula exemplifies old-school hospitality at its finest. It strikes a perfect balance between honouring its near-century of heritage and offering all the modern luxuries guests have come to expect from the Grand Dame of the Far East.
Rosewood Hong Kong
Few hotels have shaken up Hong Kong’s hospitality landscape like the Rosewood did when it opened in 2019. The property immediately became one of Asia’s top names in luxury, with a prime location on the harbourfront and a slew of incredible restaurants under its roof. Don’t miss the Manor Club, the hotel’s exclusive lounge for suite guests; with flowing champagne and hearty buffet spreads, you won’t ever want to leave.
The Upper House
Regularly topping lists of the world’s best hotels, The Upper House is renowned for its spacious, elegantly minimalist rooms and quite possibly the best view from a bathtub we’ve ever seen. It’s also known for its thoughtful yet distinctly unstuffy service, curated wellness programmes and its regular art and design collaborations. All in all, it’s one of the coolest addresses in the city.
