Bar Mood
Hidden in an alley within Taipei’s East District is Bar Mood. As you approach, four large French windows light up the venue and give it a laid-back vibe. Inside, wooden tables and chairs and a floral display contribute to surroundings that are understated yet stylish.
The proprietor is an expert in creating delicate and diverse cocktails using various liquors, syrups, teas and fruit juices. The food menu features innovative ingredients that pair well with drinks – either grilled with longan wood charcoal or fried. The natural elements of “water” and “wood” are a theme throughout; they also make up the Chinese name for Bar Mood.
The same amount of attention devoted to taste and sight is put into sound. Background music is provided through a theatre-grade THX Surrounding 10.1 stereo system with 48 amplifiers. Frequency is set, so no matter how loud the music, there is no strain in conversation. The aim is to provide a place for guests to feel comfortable, relax and recharge.
