Chengdu has always been famed for pandas, fiery food and its laid-back lifestyle. But business in the capital of Sichuan province is also booming, and the number of high-end hotels in the city has increased alongside this growth. They include this new 345-room hub right in the heart of the city.
The hotel sits adjacent to Tianfu Square, which has long been Chengdu’s main hub. It is teeming with newly built skyscrapers as well as numerous ones still under construction. From here, you can get to any part of the CBD within five minutes’ drive, including the soaring International Finance Square. The Tianfu Square metro is close, too, and it’s about 40 minutes’ drive to the airport.
There are 298 rooms and 47 suites here, all stacked into a slender tower and designed in that warm luxe vibe (think marble with metallic touches) that’s increasingly found at top hotels. Workstations are small but functional, and there’s plenty of natural light through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
There’s almost 20,000 square feet of MICE space here. The grand ballroom offers more than half of it, with a capacity of 800 in a theatre setup. But there are many smaller spaces for meetings and events, from dining areas (the private rooms at Cantonese restaurant Man Ho are the top pick) to conference rooms in the executive lounge.
