K11 Musea

Set on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront and part of the Victoria Dockside art and design district, K11 Musea offers a shopping experience like no other. The winner of the 2024 Cathay Members’ Choice Award for best shopping in Hong Kong, this intricately designed luxury shopping mall features 1.2 million square feet of high-end shops and 70 restaurants and cafes meticulously interwoven with contemporary art installations. Shopping enthusiasts will enjoy the complex’s attractive mix of high street brands, highlights of which include South Korean trendy eyewear marque Gentle Monster, Yohji Yamamoto’s debut Greater China flagship store and Moda Operandi’s first-ever Asian showroom.

PMQ

Formerly the old Hollywood Road Police Married Quarters, PMQ is worth visiting for a charming stroll through an architectural time capsule and its unexpected shopping finds. Completed in 1951, this historic set of buildings was turned into a mixed-use art and design venue in 2014, and now features close to 100 design galleries, shops, bookstores and office spaces. Here, you’ll find a wide array of local brands including popular silk dresses label Anaphe and modern qipaos at ready-to-wear brand Qipology. It’s a great place to wander around if you’re on the hunt for unique and locally made creations.

Kapok

Hong Kong-born concept store Kapok is a local favourite, known for its well-curated collection of lifestyle, beauty and fashion items. The shop carries over 340 brands, ranging from international labels such as Norse Projects and Veja to small Hong Kong brands including candle and fragrance label BeCandle and perfume house Oddity Fragrance. With eight branches throughout the city, it’s the perfect place to roam if you’re looking for niche designer pieces or cool gifts.

Airside

Located in Kowloon Bay’s newly revitalised Kai Tak complex, Airside is one of the newest and most exciting additions to Hong Kong’s retail scene. Designed by Norwegian architectural firm Snohetta, the Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum-certified shopping mall transforms the traditional shopping experience through its unique blend of art, culture and entertainment initiatives, and lush open-air spaces. It’s also a great place to shop sustainably at Hong Kong stores like FM+ Concepts, Loop Store and Fabrica X, which offer a variety of eco-friendly fashion and lifestyle products.

The Mills

Located in Tsuen Wan, The Mills – an old textile factory – reopened in 2018 after undergoing a top-to-bottom revitalisation. This complex, a nod to Hong Kong’s industrial past, houses a large variety of local brands including handmade leather shoe label b/major and eyewear shop Absolute Vintage. Jiksap

Tucked away in an industrial building in Kowloon’s To Kwa Wan, vintage store Jiksap is home to perhaps the city’s finest selection of curated antiques. The store also hosts a variety of exhibitions and events, making it a treasured Hong Kong cultural hub.

Salvo

Located in the heart of the Starstreet Precinct, menswear store Salvo champions small independent brands and brings a bit of irreverent (though always considered) style to the city. If you’re looking to inject some personality into your home, you’ll want to check out Lumeun Home . Tucked away in an industrial building in Wong Chuk Hang, this interior lifestyle store teems with Chinese antiques, handcrafted furniture, ceramics and other vintage decor objects. Handpicked by the store’s founder, most products are either authentic vintage pieces sourced in China or produced locally in Hong Kong, meaning they’re also great picks if you like to shop sustainably.
