    Winner: K11 Musea

Part of the Victoria Dockside art and design district on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, K11 Musea could be classified as a mall, but it feels like much more than that. With lush green walls and a soaring 35-metre-tall atrium setting the tone, K11 Musea knits together high-end shops (like Cartier, Saint Laurent and Kenzo Paris), contemporary art installations, cultural events and over 70 restaurants. In a city full of megamalls, this one takes the cake.

“Whether you’re looking for world-class cultural events or luxury retail experiences, K11 Musea offers the best of both worlds.” – Zoe Qu, travel editor and Cathay Members’ Choice Awards 2024 panellist

    PMQ

A heritage conversation project turned arts and design hub, PMQ (the former Police Married Quarters) is one of the best places to find local artisans selling one-of-a-kind creations. Spread across two main buildings, the boutiques run the gamut from leather goods and homeware to jewellery and fashion. After chatting with the makers as they cast molten gold or rope-stitch leather in their studios, find more inspiration at PMQ’s pop-ups, art exhibitions, workshops, festivals and great restaurants.

    Airside

Kai Tak in Kowloon Bay recently welcomed Airside , a new LEED-platinum-certified shopping centre designed by forward-thinking Norwegian architectural firm Snøhetta. It’s a sustainable retail wonderland with local shops like Loop Store, Fabrica X and Pimary providing a fresh alternative to malls full of ubiquitous international brands. Go for the eco-friendly selection but stay for the extensive dining options, a cinema complex and interactive art installations – there’s even an indoor surfing experience.
