Departure from Hong Kong

We recommend arriving at the airport two hours in advance of your flight to give you sufficient time to check in, go through security, and get to your gate. We offer a few convenient ways for you to check in.

In light of the evolving situation around coronavirus (COVID-19), in-town check-in facilities at Hong Kong and Kowloon station will be suspended from 10 April 2020 until further notice. Please proceed directly to Hong Kong International Airport to check-in.

In-town check-in

If you’re taking the Airport Express (AEL) to Hong Kong International Airport, you can take advantage of our in-town check-in facilities at either Hong Kong, Kowloon or Tsing Yi Airport Express/MTR stations.

At Hong Kong and Kowloon stations, you can check in and drop your bags at the Cathay Pacific counters as early as one day in advance and up to 120 minutes before your scheduled flight departure time. Please note that the maximum size of a check-in baggage that can be accepted is 145 x 100 x 85 cm.

Tsing Yi Station offers convenient self-service check-in and baggage tag kiosks, available up to 90 minutes before your scheduled flight departure time. Once tagged, baggage needs to be taken to a Cathay Pacific self-bag drop counter at Hong Kong International Airport (aisles A & C) up to 50 minutes before scheduled departure.

Also note, the following services are available at in-town check-in stations:

  • Wheelchair service
  • Registration/check-in for unaccompanied minors (UM). Note: escorts for unaccompanied minors are only available at the airport.
