On 15 October 2025, Cathay Pacific announced an evolvement of its membership programme, designed to deliver a smoother, simpler and better experience for members. A host of new features and privileges will be introduced to our Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond members, with changes taking effect on 1 January 2027. We're also launching Cathay Pacific Diamond Exec, a new elite status in the Diamond community. What’s the difference between Cathay Pacific’s Cathay membership, Asia Miles and Status Points?
Asia Miles are the currency you earn with your everyday spending, which you can redeem for incredible flights, experiences or lifestyle perks. Asia Miles do not expire, as long as you earn or redeem miles at least once every 18 months. Meanwhile, Status Points determine your membership status.
Starting from 1 January 2027, with the enhancements to our membership programme, the Status Points you earn will only be reset annually in every membership cycle, offering a more seamless way to retain and upgrade your status. The higher up the membership ladder you go, the more exclusive benefits await – such as access to our award-winning lounges, priority check-in and boarding, early access to exclusive events and more.

What are the different kinds of Cathay Pacific’s Cathay membership?
Cathay Pacific’s Cathay membership starts at Green, then climbs up to Silver,Gold and Diamond, with the addition of Diamond Exec in 2027. There are an increasing number of member benefits for each tier, plus status milestone benefits as you accrue points. The higher your membership status, the more privileges you’ll enjoy.
How can I earn Status Points?
To earn Status Points and elevate your Cathay Pacific’s Cathay membership status, all you need to do is continue flying with Cathay Pacific or any airlines affiliated with the oneworld alliance. But it’s not just in the air: Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard holders in Hong Kong will earn 100 Status Points for HK$500,000 they spend on eligible transactions.
What are the ways to earn Asia Miles?
Beyond flying, there’s a wealth of ways to earn miles with your everyday spending, across a huge range of areas: including payment, dining, shopping, holidays and wellness.
