Temporary closure of Yangon office in Myanmar

Today, the Cathay Pacific Group announced a temporary closure of the Yangon office in Myanmar in response to the devastating impact COVID-19 continues to have on aviation and our business.

In compliance with the Myanmar Department of Civil Aviation’s “Temporary Measures to Prevent Importation of Covid-19 to Myanmar Through Air Travel” circular, the Cathay Pacific Group has suspended all international passenger commercial operations to Yangon since 31 March 2020.

Reinstating our regular scheduled passenger service will be unlikely in the near future due to uncertainties with travel resumption and in view of the prolonged flight suspension since last year.

The Cathay Pacific Group will remain agile and will continue to look for opportunities to serve the Myanmar market as soon as we can when the travel market recovers.
