    The place

Mount Fuji has fascinated visitors for centuries. Its graceful form, rising from flat countryside, draws travellers from all over the world to admire it, scale it and now, thanks to Cathay Holidays, sleep under it.

Near the banks of Yamanakako, one of Mount Fuji’s five famous lakes, Glamping Village Totonoi offers a camping experience that combines the freedom of the outdoors with the comfort of a resort. Guests sleep in dome tents and wake up to incredible views of one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks. At around 90 minutes from Tokyo, the site is within easy reach of the city; but thanks to its fresh air and natural beauty, it feels like another world.

    The rooms

Choose from one of six domes, each set on a private patch of garden. The Standard four-bed dome is just right for a couple or family, while the Connect dome can accommodate you and all your friends.

Inside each pod, minimalist furniture and light, neutral colours create a sense of space and calm. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer pleasant views of Mount Fuji by day, while curtains guarantee peace and privacy at night.

Each dome comes with a separate toilet and shower room, and is fully air-conditioned to ensure a comfortable stay at any time of the year.

    The facilities

It wouldn’t be a real camping experience without a barbecue. In addition to all the amenities inside, each dome has its own separate covered barbecue area, so you can enjoy a good grill whatever the weather.

The site also has two private, state-of-the-art saunas that you can book to relieve your muscles after a day’s hiking or biking around Yamanakako. If you plan to drive to the camping grounds or rent a car to explore the area, you can make use of the free parking available on site.
