Its urban sanctuary in New York is no different – only this time you’re located in the heart of the action with a roster of cutting-edge wellness treatments at your disposal.

Despite the hotel’s location opposite Bergdorf Goodman and Tiffany & Co on Fifth Avenue, New York’s frenetic energy disappears the moment you step into the ebony entrance and ascend to its light-filled lobby lounge.

Understated luxury is the name of the game here, but you’ll delight in the details: from car rides around the area to the complimentary jars of hand-crafted cocktails and champagne tucked into your minibar fridges. Impeccable service anticipates your every need without being overbearing, with each room appointed a private butler and an iPad ready to signal for additional services, such as clothes pressing and unpacking. 

Asian influences are characteristically prominent, with a Japanese maple tree casting shadows over your breakfast table and screen doors lining your generously sized bathroom, where a large tub and waterfall shower create an at-home oasis feel. Modern, premium furniture, low lighting and a fireplace in each suite bring warmth to the historic architecture and create a chic sanctuary that's difficult to leave even for a spot of sightseeing.

If you do step out, however, Manhattan’s most famed addresses are right on your doorstep: MoMA, Central Park, Radio City Music Hall and more are just an easy walk away. You’ll be forgiven if you decide to stay in and make the most of the hotel’s amenities however, as seats at Japanese omakase restaurant Nama, and bar The Jazz Club and Italian fine-dining restaurant Arva are serious draws for the cool crowd.
