At Cathay, we are committed to providing a seamless, reassuring and on-time travel experience for our members and customers. Therefore, we will soon be updating our boarding and gate closure times.
Effective 1 June 2026, boarding gates will close 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure for all Cathay Pacific flights, revised from the current 10 minutes. From the same date, flights departing Hong Kong International Airport will also begin boarding 5 minutes earlier in line with these changes.
These updates are designed to create a smoother boarding experience, allowing more time to settle in once on board as well as on-time departure. Further, this aligns us with international best practices to ensure punctuality and dependability which we understand is a priority for all those travelling with us.
Members and customers are encouraged to check their boarding pass for their gate number, boarding group and boarding time, and to arrive at the gate promptly, to further support a smoother journey for all.
