How do I qualify for a higher membership status starting in 2027?

Upon signing up for the Cathay membership programme, you will be automatically enrolled as a Cathay Green member. To achieve a higher membership status, you will need to earn the required number of Status Points within a calendar year.  

Here’s how many Status Points you’ll need to reach each Cathay membership status:  

• Silver: 300
• Gold: 600
• Diamond: 1,200
• Diamond Exec: 2,400
• Diamond Plus: By invitation only*

Beginning on 1 January 2027, your Status Points will no longer reset to zero upon upgrading to a higher status. With the enhanced programme, you will have a greater opportunity to achieve higher status within a calendar year.  

For example, if you are a Green member and earn 800 Status Points in 2027, you will first be upgraded to Silver at 300 Status Points, then to Cathay Gold at 600 Status Points. Your Gold status will remain valid until 31 January 2029.

*Diamond Plus is an invitation-only status for Diamond and Diamond Exec members, based on their annual fare spending with Cathay Pacific flights.
