Cathay Pacific Adjusts Fuel Surcharges in Response to Rising Fuel Price (24 July 2026)

Following a period of decreasing jet fuel prices since the previous April peak, prices of jet fuel have recently increased due to the escalation of tensions in the Middle East.

Given the latest increase in jet fuel prices, Cathay Pacific will be adjusting the passenger fuel surcharge effective 1 August 2026. This is the first increase to the passenger fuel surcharge since April, and the fuel surcharge is still below the peak level in that same month.

This also follows multiple reductions to the fuel surcharges since May as jet fuel prices decreased, demonstrating the effectiveness of the mechanism in capturing jet fuel price movements in downward as well as upward directions. We continue to review and revise the fuel surcharges every two weeks.

A fuel surcharge is included on all Cathay Pacific tickets. The surcharge is on a per flight sector basis irrespective of fare type. It is included in the fare quoted on all our direct channels.
