How do I use my Upgrade Passes?

You may request an upgrade using your Upgrade Pass on flights marketed and operated by Cathay Pacific, provided your ticket number begins with ‘160’. Each Upgrade Pass can only be used to upgrade to the next immediate cabin on your flight, subject to seat availability (i.e., Economy to Premium Economy, or Premium Economy to Business, or Business to First). If the flight does not offer Premium Economy,  the pass may be used to upgrade from Economy to Business, subject to seat availability.

You can use your Upgrade Pass on flights booked under eligible fare types:

• Business: Flex, Essential, or Light
• Premium Economy: Flex
• Economy: Flex, or Essential, or subclasses Y, B, H, K, M, L, and V, if your flight sector does not contain a fare type.

Upgrade Passes cannot be used in conjunction with any prize, donation, or Asia Miles (or other loyalty programme points) redemption tickets. In addition, the passes cannot be applied to any flight sector with a confirmed or pending upgrade using other types of Upgrade Passes awarded in situations unrelated to being a Diamond or Diamond Exec member.
