Super Typhoon Ragasa is affecting our flights to/from Hong Kong

Última actualización: 22 Sep 2025 16:50 HKT (GMT+8)

As a result of Super Typhoon Ragasa, a number of flights scheduled to arrive and depart from Hong Kong International Airport on Tuesday, 23 September and Wednesday, 24 September have been affected.

The following Cathay Pacific flights have been cancelled:

  • Three long haul flights departing Hong Kong on the morning of 23 September (CX383 to Zurich, CX880 to Los Angeles and CX844 to New York-JFK )
  • Select flights departing Hong Kong in the morning and afternoon Tuesday 23 September; and
  • All flights arriving in and departing from Hong Kong between 6:00pm on Tuesday, 23 September and 6:00am on Thursday, 25 September.

All customers booked on affected flights will receive flight updates via SMS, email and the Cathay Pacific app.

Based on the latest weather forecast and expected operating conditions, departing flights will resume progressively from Thursday morning.

Further flight delays and cancellations may be required based on weather conditions and the typhoon’s path over the coming two days.

Customers whose flight(s) are cancelled or whose connecting flight in the same booking is missed due to the super typhoon will be automatically rebooked onto the next available flight. In some cases, to get customers to their final destination as soon as possible, they may be rebooked on one of our partner airlines. As soon as these new flight details are available, customers will receive an email from us and a notification in the Cathay Pacific app.

The quickest way for all customers who have been re-booked to another Cathay Pacific flight and would like to further change their journey, is to visit Manage Booking.

We ask all customers to ensure their personal contact details are up to date in Manage Booking so we can get in touch with the latest information.

Due to the predicted severity of the super typhoon, our in-town check-in facility at Hong Kong and Kowloon stations will be closed during this period.

We’ll continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated.

Due to the large number of flight cancellations, we thank our customers in advance for their patience and understanding while we make their alternative travels arrangements.

We ask all customers to check the status of their flight before calling our Customer Care team and before coming to the airport.
