Of all the events that filled our social calendars this past holiday season, none were as memorable as The Diamond Drinks: a special evening celebrating another memorable year of travel with some of our valued members.
More than 400 Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific's Cathay Diamond members and their guests joined us at Hong Kong’s stunning M+ museum for this exclusive end-of-year celebration. They were warmly welcomed by Head of Cathay Pacific's Cathay Membership Prudence Lau; then Cathay Pacific’s Group CEO Ronald Lam expressed his gratitude for our Diamond members and reflected on the successes of the year.
Our guests then caught up over drinks and bites. A First class bar provided guests with a selection of fine wines from our inflight cellar as well as champagne, Betsy beer and Cathay Delight mocktails. These drinks paired beautifully with the food on offer, including canapés and a variety of sweet treats.
A high point of the evening came from dance troupe Beyond Dance Theatre. Clad in flowing white, they delivered a captivating performance choreographed to Song of Cathay Pacific, our new official theme song, played on a solo violin.
Throughout the evening, guests were invited to explore an immersive showcase of the Aria Suite, the new Business seat in our Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, allowing those who had not experienced it yet to get up close with its intuitive features and human-centric design. Guests also had the chance to experience our all-new Premium Economy cabin, which offers more comfort, privacy and space – and an inflight entertainment system. These cabin showcases were complemented by an exhibition of eight original artworks from the Gallery in the Skies, a collection of pieces specially commissioned for display alongside the Aria Suite. Among the exhibits were Stephen Wong Chun Hei’s vibrant painting Lion Rock From Above (2024) and Sophie Cheung’s abstract composition created using smeared newspaper ink – sublime pieces that passengers will love encountering again in the air.
To honour the season of giving, we made sure to include souvenirs for all our members, including individually monogrammed Cathay Pacific Bioloco insulated bottles and our Cathay Pacific tote bags , decorated with retro-style illustrations of global landmarks. There was also a lucky draw for three pairs of Business round-trip tickets on our newly launched and announced routes to Riyadh, Dallas and Munich.
It was a delight to raise a glass with our Diamond members as the year came to a close. We are proud to have been a part of your journeys in 2024 and look forward to connecting you with more meaningful experiences and curated events in the months to come.
