“With its vibrant culture and regional cuisine, Urumqi is the Cathay Pacific destination that intrigues me the most. Wandering through bustling bazaars, feasting on juicy lamb skewers and savoury Samsa pastries, discovering the city’s distinctive coffee culture... It’s thrilling to think all these experiences are now just a flight away from Hong Kong.”

“I’ve always dreamt of embarking on a Great American Road Trip, and with Cathay Pacific’s direct route between Hong Kong and Dallas-Fort Worth, I can start my adventure in the Lone Star State.

After some smoky barbecue and a proper Texas rodeo, I’d like to drive to New Mexico, through Palo Duro Canyon State Park and historic Albuquerque, then up to Santa Fe for a dip in the spring-fed thermal pools followed by a trip to The Georgia O’Keeffe Home and Studio in beautiful, windswept Abiquiú.”

“Hong Kong has always been a special city for me. I can’t wait to return to the local food and places I’m familiar with, or to hike new trails and take in Hong Kong’s beautiful mountain views. It’ll be a chance to slow down, reconnect with the city and perhaps discover something fresh along the way.”

“Last year, I flew to Sydney to take a language course. I watched the sun rise from my window on the plane – it was magical seeing the clouds glow.

The rest of the trip was just as amazing. I became friends with classmates from around the world and returned to Hong Kong full of knowledge. I have such great memories of Sydney that I’d love to visit again.”

“As an opera lover, I enjoy travelling around the world for performances. My most memorable journey was to see Baroque composer George Frideric Handel’s famed opera Giulio Cesare in Chicago in 2007. The Lyric Opera of Chicago staged a fabulous production by Scottish director Sir David McVicar that had originally premiered at the 2005 Glyndebourne Festival in the United Kingdom.

Given the chance, I’d like to revisit Chicago for another groundbreaking performance or explore opera scenes in other parts of the world.”
