As a company founded in 1933 in Trieste, Italy, our goal has always been to offer the best coffee to the world. Today, at least nine million cups of illy coffee are enjoyed daily in more than 140 countries. Wherever you are in the world, you’ll be drinking the same consistently exceptional illy blend, composed of nine different kinds of the top 1% of pure Arabica beans.

At illycaffè, sustainability and quality go hand-in-hand. We support local communities by purchasing our beans directly from South America, Central America, India and Africa. As the first Italian coffee company to obtain B Corp^® certification, we pride ourselves on our ethical production and commitment to economic, social and environmental sustainability.

Spreading the love

With over 90 years of expertise, we’ve made scientific advances within each step of the production process.

In 1999, to set the standard for excellence, we founded Università del Caffè, an education hub for coffee growers, café owners and baristas. To date, we have 23 branches outside Italy and have trained more than 350,000 coffee connoisseurs worldwide.

More than coffee

Our drive for excellence goes beyond coffee. We’ve been promoting contemporary art for more than 30 years, sponsoring art fairs and exhibitions including Artissima and the Venice Biennale. 

In 1992, a group of artists used our iconic, Matteo Thun-designed coffee cups as a canvas. Since then, more than 130 international artists have contributed designs to the illy Art Collection , creating everyday objets d’art that invite you to seek inspiration with every cup of illy coffee.
