Flying with Cathay Pacific is more than moving from one destination to another – it’s an experience designed to inspire. From thoughtful details to artistic touches, every element is crafted to elevate your journey. One way we achieve this is by integrating art into our aircraft cabins and airport lounge areas, giving each a sense of place and identity.

Now, with the launch of our dedicated online art hub, you can explore our collection and creative initiatives anytime, anywhere. This new landing page on the Cathay Pacific website offers insight into our perspective on art and its role in shaping the travel experience.

Whether they’re by established or emerging artists; or classical or experimental in medium, each piece is chosen to evoke a sense of connection with their creator and the diverse cultural context they represent – from Beijing to Vancouver to London.

“The art displayed in our lounges and Business class cabins fitted with the Aria Suite reflects our holistic approach to delivering a world-class customer experience,” says Guillaume Vivet, General Manager Customer Experience Design at Cathay Pacific. “We want to enhance every stage of your journey with meaningful encounters and thoughtful, human-centric design.”

A highlight is Gallery in the skies, which brings works by 15 Hong Kong-rooted artists into our Boeing 777-300ER Business class cabins. Curated by art advisor Dr Henrietta Tsui-Leung and collector Alan Lo, the gallery spans painter Stephen Wong’s dreamy reimaginings of Hong Kong landscapes to Sophie Cheung’s abstract ink-stained rubber compositions. On our hub, you’ll find articles and videos that illuminate these creative practices.

Our commitment to art extends to our lounges, where strategic location and curation of the works is key to enhancing the atmosphere. “The art complements the warm, residential ambience while cultivating a sense of place,” says Marcus Lui, Head of End-to-End Customer Experience and Strategy at Cathay Pacific. “Whether you’re visiting Cathay Pacific’s The Bridge lounge in Hong Kong International Airport near Gate 35, our redesigned Cathay Pacific lounge in Beijing Capital International Airport or our lounge in Shenzhen’s Shekou Cruise home port, you’ll find works that capture local culture and themes.”

In the Beijing lounge, a calligraphic work by Chui Pui Chee hangs at the entrance, a map-like painting by artist Xu Lei is displayed in one of the lounge’s enclosed spaces, while a series of drawings on boarding passes by William Lim decorates the main lounge area. We’re also proud to serve as the exclusive travel partner of Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WestK), a role in which we transport masterpieces and support global art events.

Visit our online art hub to delve into our growing collection. And next time you fly with us, if you have chance, take a moment to admire the works we’ve curated for you.
