We’re excited to reveal the shortlist for Hong Kong’s best fine-dining restaurant – perfect for those chasing Michelin stars and unforgettable meals – with one standout restaurant set to be crowned the city’s top epicurean experience.
With input from our expert panel, this year’s nominees have officially been shortlisted. Voting is open to Cathay members from 1 to 21 June. In the meantime, learn more about the nominees below.
The nominees
Cristal Room by Anne-Sophie Pic
As the world’s most decorated female chef – with a global portfolio of restaurants that has earned more than 10 Michelin stars – Anne-Sophie Pic knows a thing or two about successful restaurant projects. So, it comes as no surprise that Cristal Room by Anne-Sophie Pic in Hong Kong has garnered rave reviews since opening in late 2023. Guided by her ambitious vision and delicate culinary style, the two-Michelin-starred venue – a Cathay dining partner – offers a menu of French haute cuisine infused with subtle Asian influences, executed at the highest level. If the imaginative wine pairings don’t enchant you, the Baccarat crystal-adorned dining room certainly will.
T’ang Court
Few Cantonese restaurants in Hong Kong can match T’ang Court ’s enduring reputation. With a decades-long legacy at the top and a record-setting run of consecutive years holding three Michelin stars – not to mention a win last year at the Cathay Members’ Choice Awards 2025 – it remains a benchmark for the cuisine. Set within The Langham, Hong Kong, this Cathay dining partner exudes a sense of occasion and grandeur, where tradition and precision take centre stage. Under the stewardship of chef Wong Chi Fai and his seasoned team, the kitchen is a masterclass in Cantonese refinement, from nourishing double-boiled soups to delicately stir-fried lobster and Wagyu, and dim sum elevated to an art form.
Amber
Perennially ahead of the curve, Amber has championed sustainable gastronomy long before it was in vogue. Chef Richard Ekkebus upends fine dining with a lighter approach, eschewing dairy and gluten, while limiting red meat and refined sugars to let his carefully picked seasonal ingredients and pure flavours shine through French-rooted technique. The result is a distinctly innovative menu – reflected in signature dishes like the uni, cauliflower, lobster and caviar – which has earned Amber three Michelin stars and a Michelin Green Star for sustainability, cementing its place among the city’s most forward-thinking restaurants.
Yat Tung Heen
Known for crafting award-winning Cantonese cuisine that’s both accessible and deeply comforting, it’s no wonder Yat Tung Heen remains a long-time favourite among Hong Kong foodies. Having extended its Michelin-star streak to a decade this year, it delivers refined fare in a retro setting that would feel right at home in a Wong Kar-wai film. Fork-tender char siu and delicately marinated cherry tomatoes honour tradition while feeling thoughtfully updated and enhanced. It’s fine dining without the pretension, and all the more memorable for it. Can’t get enough?
