Note: In compliance with the requirements from Hong Kong Civil Aviation, we will implement a full reconciliation of passenger travel document check at the boarding gate of Hong Kong International Airport if the passenger is unable to proceed using the self-boarding system by biometric facial recognition. The passenger's identity will be verified by cross-checking the passenger's name on the travel document and boarding pass and the photograph in the document.

If you’re taking the Airport Express to Hong Kong International Airport, you can use our in-town self-service check-in and bag drop facilities. Ambassadors are available to assist if needed.

Bag drop

At Hong Kong and Kowloon stations, you can drop off your bags after online check-in from 24 hours up to 90 minutes before your scheduled flight departure. Use the kiosks to print your baggage tag and proceed to the bag drop machines. The maximum size for check-in baggage is 145 x 100 x 85 cm.

Self-service check-in and bag drop are only for passengers with valid electronic travel documents.

Special services and requests

Our in-town check-in locations cannot process bookings with infants, upgrades, excess baggage redemption, extra legroom seats, group and agency bookings, and special services.

For codeshare flights at in-town check-in, please proceed to the operating carrier’s counters for assistance.

Flights to the United States

Due to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations, boarding passes for flights to the US can only be issued 24 hours before departure.
