How to maximise your Cathay Green membership benefits
On 15 October 2025, Cathay has announced an evolvement of its membership programme, designed to deliver a smoother, simpler and better experience for members. A host of new features and privileges will be introduced to our Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond members, with changes taking effect on 1 January 2027.

24-hour free cancellation
Accidentally booked the wrong flight, or suddenly changed your mind? When booking directly through the Cathay app or website, you’ll be able to cancel your booking within 24 hours, if your departure date is more than eight days away – making your travel plans more flexible than ever.

Priority online check-in
If you like to stay organised when you travel, you’ll love this benefit. As a Green member, you’ll be able to check-in up to 48 hours before departure time, allowing you to beat the airport queues and breeze your way through security.
Extra miles when you shop or dine
Did you know flying isn’t the only way to earn miles? Whether you’re treating yourself or looking for a last-minute gift, you can earn extra miles when you make a purchase on our online Cathay Shop , at a rate of HKD3 = 1. Hong Kong’s a city filled with fantastic restaurants and we’re proud to call some of them our partners, which means you’re able to earn HKD4 = 1 when you close the bill. Don’t forget that you can also earn miles when booking your hotels with any of our hospitality partners through Cathay Holidays, at an earn rate of HKD5 = 1.
