    Feasts for the stomach and for the eyes abound this month with plenty of things to do in Hong Kong and across the Greater Bay Area, ranging from the much-anticipated return of Hong Kong’s largest outdoor food and wine festival to immersive exhibitions across the region that are wacky, spellbinding, or downright surreal.

    Hong Kong: Wine and Dine Festival 

    The Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival returns to Central Harbourfront this month. As in previous editions, the outdoor food and drinks event features hundreds of local and international wine, beer and spirit makers, as well as plenty of homegrown chefs. New activities this year include children’s cooking workshops and an area dedicated to Chinese winemakers. Don’t miss the live entertainment in between all that eating, drinking and shopping – paired with unbeatable views of Victoria Harbour, to boot.

    Mr Doodle Exhibition

    Macao: Mr Doodle at City of Dreams 

    You’ve probably seen videos of Mr Doodle’s home, where every square inch of the interior is covered in his striking Keith Haring-esque graffiti. Now, he’s brought his works to the City of Dreams for this year’s Macao International Art Biennale. Don’t miss the chance to see the artist’s first-ever exhibition in the city , which will showcase new original works and his Disney-inspired collection.

    Macao: Macao Golf Open 

    A whopping US$1 million is on the line as the Macao Golf Open returns to the city. More than 140 professionals from around the world will congregate at the Macau Golf and Country Club for the 20th edition of the tournament. Lee Westwood, Colin Montgomerie and China’s Liang Wenchong and Zhang Lianwei are among the golfers to have won the prestigious event in the past.

    Macao: Yoho Treasure Island Resorts World Hotel Opens 

    The Vegas of the East is unveiling a new landmark this month with the grand opening of Yoho Treasure Island Resorts World Hotel. With views over the gleaming Grand Lisboa and Nam Van Lake, luxe features like al fresco bathtubs, a park filled with art installations and an upcoming a five-storey shopping centre including a Galeries Lafayette, the property looks set to be a hit.

    Shenzhen: Qing Dynasty Enamels at the Shenzhen Museum 

    Get inspired at the Shenzhen Museum this month with A Splendid Blend of China and the West – Canton Enamels of the Qing Dynasty, an exhibition displaying more than 250 delicate hand-painted enamels, including unusual pieces depicting traditional Chinese imagery and European figures. This curated collection of artworks has been sourced from 10 museums around the country, bringing rare examples together under the same roof for the first time.

    Interested in porcelain craft? 

    Known for its bright colours and hand-painted scenes, guangcai, or the art of painting patterns on porcelain, is a centuries-old Chinese artform which originated in Jingdezhen during the Qing dynasty and became popular in Europe. Today, Yuet Tung China Works in Kowloon Bay is the sole remaining guangcai specialist in Hong Kong.

    Shenzhen: Chen Fenwan’s The Paper Cutter 

    Guangzhou-based artist Chen Fenwan is known for her brightly coloured dragon sculptures, ombre beasts and playful portraits, all created using the technique of paper cutting. Check out her Barbie-pink solo show The Paper Cutter at the Jupiter Museum of Art in Futian, where Chen showcases her unique take on this traditional art form.

    Foshan: Guochao Music Festival 

    Young Chinese have increasingly put international influences behind them, following instead Chinese-born designers, artists and pop icons – leading to the rise of the term guochao, or “national wave”. This month, the Guochao Music Festival at Foshan Youth Park will highlight a new generation of musicians, including singer-songwriter Guo Ding and rising star Su Xunlun.
