Situated at the foot of Germany's tallest mountain, Zugspitze, this region provides direct access via walking paths to Eibsee – one of the most beautiful lakes in the Alps. For a high-altitude adventure, hop on the cable car from the lake towards the summit of Zugspitze. Just be sure to plan your visit around the opening hours of the service.

Luxembourg may be small, but its terrain is impressively diverse. Get an immediate feel for it in Vianden, a charming town nestled among dense forests on the banks of the Our river. Its most striking feature is Vianden Castle, which rises majestically above the town and is accessible via walking trails of varying lengths and difficulty. Vianden is also home to the country’s only cable car, offering panoramic views of a landscape that looks straight out of a fantasy film. Anglers can apply for a fishing license in advance to cast a line at the Our reservoir, while cyclists and water-sports enthusiasts will find plenty to explore across the wider Éislek region – with well-maintained bike paths and beginner-friendly stretches along the Our and Sauer rivers.

When the weather is mild, visitors can explore a variety of bike trails, hike through red-and-gold forests, or relax at a mountain lodge complete with heated pools or saunas – all while taking in the dramatic views of the Dolomites.
