“In late 2019, my family went on holiday in the United States, flying First class on the return journey from Boston to Hong Kong. Senior purser Connie gave us a warm welcome as she led us to our seats in the First class cabin. When my parents finished their inflight meals before my brother and I did, Connie turned off the lights in their part of the cabin so they could rest earlier. What was the most impressive was when Connie specially prepared caviar for my brother, after he mentioned that he liked it earlier on in the flight.”
“On another flight in October 2024, I heard this boarding announcement: ‘My name is Connie, I’m your inflight service manager.’ I looked up and saw that it was the same Connie who was the senior purser on that 2019 flight. When she greeted me, I showed her the business card she gave us that time we flew First class, and she remembered the four of us. The whole experience gave me a sense of homecoming: seeing familiar faces, kind smiles and people who remember my habits. That’s Cathay service!”

“I flew back to Hong Kong from the Philippines on my birthday a few years ago, and the staff at the Cathay Pacific lounge in Manila made the effort to whip up a small birthday cake and sing 'happy birthday' while my husband and I waited for our flight. It was such a sweet gesture and made our day that much more special!”

“On 27 March 2024, my husband and I took a red-eye Cathay Pacific flight from New York (JFK) to Hong Kong. The JFK ground crew – Mia, Casandra and manager Phylis – were polite and professional, and helped move us to adjoining Business class seats so we could sit together. The cabin crew manager Krischna greeted us and made us feel truly welcome and at ease. I suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression at that time, and always found flying extremely stressful, to the extent of having to take anxiolytics. Krischna immediately made me feel calm and relaxed. She brought me my favourite drink: the delicious Cathay Delight! We talked like we had known each other for years, instead of having just met! Throughout the journey, Krischna enquired how everything was and brought Cathay Delight with fresh mint leaves for me to enjoy on multiple occasions. I believe she retired in June that year but we will forever remember her kindness and professionalism.”

“Flying from Paris to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific in May this year, one flight attendant noticed I was feeling a bit tired and offered to bring me a steaming cup of ginger tea, her thoughtfulness immediately brought a smile to my face. It’s those little gestures that make you feel seen as a valued guest.”

“Cabin crew Christina was extremely helpful and kind during my Business flight. She not only helped me to find the name of the cheese that was served, but also recommended that I change my return flight so that I would be on an aircraft with diagonal private pods instead of a three-and-three seat configuration. Even though I had to pay a small handling fee for the change, I am grateful for Christina’s advice as I enjoyed a fabulous flight experience. I seldom enjoy inflight food, but the lamb was cooked perfectly. I could not have asked for a better way to end my trip! Cathay Pacific’s cabin crew deserve special recognition for their hard work and their excellent service. I am so lucky to have been taken care of by the best team in the sky!”
