The nearly half-century-old former Dusit Thani Bangkok building was demolished in 2019, and after five years of construction, its new edifice reopened last autumn, its distinctive golden spire commanding attention on Bangkok’s skyline. Located opposite Lumpini Park, you’ll enjoy city views overlooking the park from every vantage point – whether at the pool, gym or in the guest rooms. The 5-star hotel occupies a prime position in Bangkok's shopping and business district, adjacent to the vibrant Silom Road. Silom Complex and Patpong Night Market are nearby, while the One Bangkok mall, which opened at the end of last year, is within a 20-minute walk. Both Silom MRT and Sala Daeng BTS stations are within walking distance, making it an ideal luxury choice for business and leisure travellers alike.
Upon entering the lobby, you’re greeted by an invigorating fragrance, though your breath is quickly taken away by the exquisite, top-notch craftsmanship – including preserved hand-painted pillars saved from the original building that almost make you forget about checking in. In the redesign by Hong Kong’s André Fu Studio, the hotel’s history and heritage are reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Its iconic waterfall has been reimagined as a state-of-the-art geometric waterfall garden, while local artistry is celebrated through lobby murals by emerging artist Sakon Malee and pottery from Koh Kret island.
Onsite restaurant Cannubi by Umberto Bombana marks the first Thai venture for the acclaimed “King of White Truffles.” Alongside authentic Italian dishes such as Sicilian red prawn pasta and pan-seared sea bass with Mediterranean mussels and anchovy sauce, there are also fine wines from the renowned Cannubi estate. For evening drinks, head to Spire Rooftop Bar . Opened last December, this rooftop venue has already become a local hotspot and features tropical cocktails designed by award-winning bar Tropic City – try the Super-Nature cocktail with Thai pomelo while capturing photos beside the illuminated golden spire.
The city hotel’s Thai-inspired luxury aesthetic flows seamlessly from lobby to rooms. Upon entering, you’re immediately struck by Bangkok’s cityscape, framed like artwork and complemented by soft tones and craftsman details. Every room category in the hotel offers spectacular views of Lumpini Park, and our Club Corner room featured L-shaped floor-to-ceiling windows and a sofa for enhanced vistas. Other rooms, starting from 538sq ft, are similarly inviting, tempting you to set aside your busy itinerary and savour a moment of tranquillity.
“This marks my second stay at Dusit Thani Bangkok . My first visit was to its former luxury landmark, opened in 1970. Returning after its reimagining, I found it adorned in stunning new attire. The fifth-floor infinity pool is a haven for relaxation. I recommend enjoying a treatment at Devarana Wellness, followed by drinks on the pool deck’s spacious daybeds. As evening falls, immerse yourself in the standalone jacuzzi pool while taking in the sparkling night views.”
