What to know about being a Cathay member
On 15 October 2025, Cathay announced an evolvement of its membership programme, designed to deliver a smoother, simpler and better experience for members. A host of new features and privileges will be introduced to our Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond members, with changes taking effect on 1 January 2027. We're also launching Cathay Diamond Exec, a new elite status in the Diamond community.

From priority check-in and lounge passes to dining offers, concert ticket and more, your membership comes with incredible rewards and meaningful experiences from more than 800 travel and lifestyle partners. As a Cathay member, you’ll also be able to maximise your rewards with preferential earning and redemption rates across flights, shopping, dining and holiday and wellness experiences.
Make sure you take advantage of our Card Linked Earn programme, which allows Cathay members to earn miles on everyday purchases effortlessly with our selected partners by simply linking their existing Mastercard or Visa credit cards to their membership profiles.
As you gain more Status Points, you’ll climb to Silver, Gold and finally Diamond status – accessing more rewards at each stage of your journey.

Green
As a Green member, you’ll instantly enter a world of exclusive benefits upon signing up to Cathay – with no joining fee required.
Experience smoother journeys with priority online check-in 48-hours before your flight (which is 24 hours ahead of non-members) or reserve extra-legroom seats and additional baggage with Miles Plus Cash this payment option. You can also cancel any Cathay Pacific flights free of charge within 24 hours of booking. After reaching 200 Status Points, your mid-status benefit will kick in: a Business class lounge pass for yourself or a travel companion when travelling together on a Cathay Pacific or oneworld flight. You can also use your membership to unlock exclusive travel experiences with our partners. For example, as a Green member, you can access dining offers and early check-in or late check-out at The Upper House and EAST hotels . Alternatively, take your travels on the road with Hertz, saving 10 per cent and earning bonus miles.
With a Green membership, you’re also able to earn miles on your everyday spending – and then turn those miles into incredible rewards and experiences. Earn up to HKD3=1 when you shop, HKD5=1 when you book hotels and holiday packages with us, or HKD4=1 when you dine with our restaurant partners.
Silver
Upon reaching 300 Status Points within your membership year, you’ll be upgraded to a Silver membership, which comes with all the status benefits of Green plus additional perks.
As a Silver member, you’ll be able to choose and reserve a seat ahead of time, without having to wait until online check-in is available. There’s also no need to pack light anymore: Silver members are entitled to bring an additional piece of checked baggage and an extra 10kg cabin allowance on every journey. At check-in, you can head straight to the Business counter, then unwind in our award-winning Business class lounge before departure. Priority baggage handling will make your journey smoother and faster – and you’ll easily spot your bags with personalised Cathay membership luggage tags.
Additionally, you’ll enjoy year-round privileges at Upper House and EAST Hotels , no matter you’re treating yourself to a relaxing stay or simply dining at one of the hotel restaurants. Planning to rent a car? Your Silver membership lets you upgrade to the next class with Hertz and save 10 per cent on daily chauffeur services.
Your mid-status benefits arrive when you reach 450 points in the form of two Business class lounge passes. Next time you travel on a Cathay Pacific or oneworld flight – share with a companion to get your next trip off to a fantastic start.
Silver members and above also get superb rates of HKD4=1 when you shop, dine or book hotels and holiday packages with us, plus exclusive partner benefits. On top of that, you’ll get a 5 per cent discount when you shop with miles, and 10 per cent off your dining bill when you pay with miles.
Gold
For those who achieve 600 Status Points within a year, you’ve reached the gold status.
On top of all Silver benefits, Gold members will enjoy the flexibility of being able to reserve a preferred seat or extra legroom seat ahead of your flight (see more details here). You can also invite a guest to Business class lounges operated by us or our oneworld airline partners, and start your journeys in style. Better yet, you’ll be to enjoy complimentary inflight Wi-Fi access across all cabins on Cathay Pacific’s flights, staying fully connected in the skies. This service will be available starting from 15 November 2025.
Next time you’re dining out, collect more miles thanks to preferential earning rates, and explore exclusive partner benefits on your next holiday booking. For example, at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Gold members will get a complimentary room upgrade,early check-in or late check-out and complimentary welcome drinks at selected hotel restaurant(s). If you’re renting transportation at select locations, make use of your Gold membership to upgrade your ride by two car classes with Hertz, or receive 10 per cent off daily chauffeur services.
There are two mid-status benefits to collect in Gold: at 800 Status Points, you will receive a further two Business class lounge passes to gift to a redemption group member; while 1,000 Status Points will unlock four bookable upgrades for yourself or a companion.
Diamond
At 1,200 Status Points, you reach our Diamond membership status.
Experience the ultimate convenience with priority check-in and boarding via our First class or Business counters, as well as additional checked baggage and special cabin baggage allowances – and priority baggage handling after the flight. You’ll have access to all Cathay Pacific’s First and Business class lounges and oneworld airlines’ lounges. As an extra perk, you’re welcome to bring along two guests when travelling together with Cathay Pacific and oneworld airlines.
Your mid-status benefits start at 1,400 Status Points, with either First or Business class lounge passes. At 1,600 points you can claim four bookable upgrades, and you’ll receive a Gold companion card at 1,800 points, allowing you to gift a Gold membership to a family member or friend.
As an elite Diamond member, you’ll be granted priority access to exclusive events and travel experiences. A wide range of offers at our hotel partners are open to you, including a host of perks at selected Peninsula Hotels properties in Asia, which range from complimentary limousine transfer to room upgrades and special rates on dining and spa treatments.
