Your Status Points will not reset to zero after each status upgrade. This means it’s possible to earn multiple membership status upgrades within a year.

New exclusive benefit for Diamond members

If you’ve held any Diamond status for five years or more, you’re now eligible for Diamond membership reserve^{^}. You’ll receive one complimentary Diamond membership up to one year for every 6,000 Status Points you’ve earned since 2016, when Status Points were first introduced.

Activating the complimentary Diamond membership will grant Cathay Diamond status for up to one year without the need to first accumulate Status Points. There is no expiration date on each complimentary Diamond membership, so you can choose when to use them. Once a complimentary Diamond membership is activated, it will last until the end of that year. Complimentary Diamond memberships are not transferable and are for the member’s own use only.

Members who have held any with at least one year of Diamond membership will receive an email from us on the afternoon of 20 October 2025 with a dedicated link to view their personalised progression towards the complimentary Diamond membership.
