(HONG KONG) Dragonair is now providing a special treat for First and Business Class passengers by serving freshly brewed illy coffee inflight. Through this collaboration with the renowned Italian coffee roasting company, passengers have the opportunity to enjoy authentic rich-tasting Italian coffee wherever they fly on Dragonair’s extensive Asian network.
In order to ensure passengers can enjoy the same multisensory coffee experience inflight as they do on the ground, Dragonair’s catering team has carefully selected the finest dark-roasted coffee to serve onboard. illy provides a perfect blend of Arabica beans, working directly with the growers and adjusting the roast after every harvest to ensure a strong and rich, yet smooth and balanced, cup of coffee.
In addition to selecting the best level of roasting for the coffee beans used inflight, the Dragonair catering team worked with illy to design a special coffee pillow pack for use with the airline's infight coffee machines. Numerous tests were conducted to ensure that a rewarding “five senses” coffee experience - smell, taste, touch, hearing and sight – can be enjoyed by passengers, despite the sense of smell and taste buds being reduced when travelling at altitude.
