Dragonair to operate more flights to Shanghai Hongqiao

02 Nov 2015

Dragonair today announced the addition of two more flights per week from Hong Kong to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. The additional flights will begin on 10 November 2015.

The airline currently operates a daily service between Hong Kong and Shanghai Hongqiao. The additional flights will bring the total number of flights per week to the airport to nine.

Together with the existing 13 flights per day to Shanghai Pudong, Dragonair will have 100 flights departing from Hong Kong to Shanghai every week, offering customers more choice and greater flexibility when organising their travel itineraries. Sister airline Cathay Pacific also operates three flights a day to Shanghai Pudong. As a group, the two airlines will operate 121 flights a week to Shanghai from 10 November 2015 onwards.

The Hongqiao service will be operated by Dragonair’s fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft.

Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Algernon Yau said: “As an international finance centre and key commercial city in Mainland China, Shanghai has long been one of the most important destinations in the Dragonair network. Our Hongqiao service has proved popular with our customers and we are pleased to expand our operations to the airport, highlighting our continued commitment to serving the Mainland market.”
