Dragonair Flight Schedule Integrity Improving Passengers Advised Not to Go to The Airport Without Confirmed Bookings

(Hong Kong) Dragonair today (27 July) announced that its flight schedule integrity is improving while it has been doing its best to put its planes and crew back into position and clear backlogs arising from flight cancellations and diversions as a result of typhoon Vicente and subsequent bad weather in the last few days.

Passengers whose flights are cancelled are advised not to go to the airport. Dragonair will assist with alternative arrangements for affected passengers.

However, the situation continues to be challenging as occasional heavy rains and thunderstorms are still affecting Hong Kong and Mainland China. It is expected that some flights will be delayed each day through the end of the week. Additional flight cancellations may also be necessary to get airplanes and crew back into position. Alternative arrangements have been offered to affected passengers when circumstances permit, given that flight loading is tight in summer peak.

Passengers are advised to first check the airline’s website, www.dragonair.com, to get the latest flight information before leaving for the airport.

To ensure customers receive the latest flight status updates via SMS or email, they are advised to update their contact details in Manage My Booking.

The airline will waive re-booking, re-routing, cancellation and refund charges for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on or before 24 July for travel on Dragonair between now and 29 July.

Dragonair continues to monitor the situation closely and will issue further updates once more information becomes available. The airline regrets any inconvenience this may cause and hopes for passengers’ understanding.
