oneworldÔ , the leading quality global airline alliance, has unveiled a new-style, more user-friendly website, making it easier to check flight schedules across its unrivalled global network and see where its member airlines fly.
oneworld.com has been completely redesigned with a fresh look and easier-to-follow navigation and now features:
Popular features have been retained and improved, such as:
oneworld's existing eight member airlines - American Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, LAN, Finnair and Aer Lingus - plus their 12 affiliates today serve more than 600 destinations in some 135 countries with more than 8,150 flights a day.
Early next year, they will be joined by Japan Airlines and five of its affiliates, plus Malév and Royal Jordanian, expanding its coverage to almost a hundred more destinations and half dozen more countries, and taking its daily departures to more than 9,000.
oneworld Vice-President Commercial Nicolas Ferri said: "Our overall objective in relaunching oneworld.com is to make it more useful to our customers, rather than simply providing basic information about the alliance. So we've made it easier for visitors to find the site's most popular features and added new elements we know will be immensely popular, like our new interactive network map."
oneworld brings together some of the best and biggest names in the airline business - American Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, Iberia, Cathay Pacific, LAN, Finnair and Aer Lingus, plus their dozen affiliates. Japan Airlines, Malév and Royal Jordanian will join them early next year.
The alliance enables its members to offer their customers more services and benefits than any airline can provide on its own. These include a broader route network, opportunities to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles and points across the combined oneworld network and more airport lounges. oneworld is the only alliance to enable passengers to fly throughout its network, on any combination of carriers, using just electronic tickets.
oneworld was voted the world's best airline alliance by readers of Business Traveller magazine for the second year running in its 2005 poll and the World's Leading Airline Alliance for the third year running in the latest World Travel Awards, based on votes cast by 80,000 travel agency professionals from more than 200 countries. It is also the only alliance whose members reported collective profits in their latest full year.
Note: LAN affiliates LAN Ecuador and LAN Argentina are not members of oneworld.
