Ezycargo launches in Taiwan

08 Jun 2005

Ezycargo, the leading Asian multi-carrier cargo portal, is launched in Taiwan today. A seminar was organized in Taipei and co-hosted by Global Logistics System (Hong Kong) and Trade-Van Information Services Co. who are partnered to market Ezycargo services in Taiwan.

Ezycargo is an Internet-based air cargo portal designed to help airlines & freight forwarders expand their e-business capabilities and improve efficiency. It was first launched in Hong Kong in September 2003.

Cathay Pacific is one of four partner airlines involved in the launch of the Ezycargo portal, through which cargo customers can make allotment and free-sale bookings, conduct tracking and tracing, and review flight schedules for each carrier.

Joining Cathay Pacific Cargo in the Ezycargo venture are Japan Airlines Cargo, Qantas Freight and Singapore Airlines Cargo. More airlines have expressed an interest in Ezycargo and are expected to join in the near future.

Besides Taiwan, Ezycargo has been rolled out in 10 Asian countries and 30 cities including Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Japan, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, New Zealand and Thailand. In May, over 1,400 forwarders are subscribing to Ezycargo and transacting with airlines.

Ezycargo, established & developed by two of the industry's most successful cargo community systems - Cargo Community Network Singapore Pte Ltd and Global Logistics System (HK) Co. Ltd (also known as Traxon Hong Kong), offers customers a range of functions and additional benefits.

Freight Forwarders are able to check availability, make allotment and free-sale bookings, conduct tracking and tracing, and review flight schedules on the four carriers through Ezycargo.com. Additional features include FHL & FWB submission and other local functions like terminal services, customs clearance and trade declaration.

Cathay Pacific’s Director & General Manager Cargo Ron Mathison said, “We welcome the market development of the neutral & multi-carrier portal Ezycargo. I am sure all players in the airfreight industry will find this one-stop-shop service easier and more efficient to conduct business electronically through Ezycargo."
