"We Love HK" campaign gains wider support

Banks, cinemas and dozens of other businesses today announced fresh offers for the "We Love HK" campaign to help get Hong Kong's economy get back on its feet by encouraging local people to spend more money.

All 60 cinemas under the Hong Kong Theatres Association weighed in with special offers to moviegoers. Details are available from each theatre group taking part, which include UA, Broadway, Golden Harvest and many more.

Members of the travel trade increased their support. The Asia Miles travel reward programme is offering double miles to members at all Asia Miles partner restaurants in the Asia Pacific region from now until 30 June. That includes 100 Asia Miles-affiliated restaurants in Hong Kong.

Details on campaign offers can be found on the special www.welovehongkong.com Website, where traders wishing to take part can also download the "We Love HK" logo to display in stores.

PCCW is operating a hotline 1836 168 that people can call with any question about the campaign - how it works, who is taking part, where to redeem special offers. The hotline will operate 9.00am to 5.00pm daily.

To date, hundreds of stores, restaurants and hotels have enlisted in the campaign. They include major chains like Bossini, Giordano and McDonald's. Some 14 airlines have offered thousands of specially discounted offers.

The "We Love HK" campaign was created by the Tourism Coalition of Hong Kong, which comprises members of the tourism industry, including the Board of Airline Representatives, Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners, Hong Kong Hotels Association and Travel Industry Council.
