More than 1,800 local companies come up with offers for the "We Love HK" campaign

More than 1,800 Hong Kong companies have given their backing to the "We Love HK" campaign since it was launched on 1 May. Some 1,300 tour companies, 80 hotels, eight entertainment groups, 118 catering companies and 312 retailers have joined the campaign with special offers aimed at getting Hong Kong people spending again. Around 10,000 taxis are also taking part.
On the redemption side, 26 airlines and 27 hotels are offering special deals to people who can show receipts to show they've been spending money locally. Entertainment groups, restaurants and retailers are also offering redemption awards.
New merchants are still pitching in with special offers. Hutchison Telecommunications (Hong Kong) Limited is now offering a "buy one, get one free" deal on the purchase of a HK$200 Orange International Roaming Rechargeable SIM Card, while Excel Education Ltd has pitched in with a 10% discount on all English language services for newly enrolled clients in May.
Music lovers buying tickets through the Internet can enjoy a 10% discount on tickets for two upcoming performances from the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, while The Commercial Press (Hong Kong) Ltd has 10% off its bestsellers for the month. Shun Hing JVC Limited is offering selected discounts with any air ticket or original air ticket redemption coupon with the departure date on or before June 30, 2003.
There are more "We Love HK" awards, too. Xiamen Air Holidays is offering 200 tickets to Xiamen at HK$999, while Air China has come up with 400 more tickets to Beijing and Dalian at the revised price of HK$799, along with tickets to Chengdu, Chongqing and Guiyang at the same price.
The International Spinal Institute is another new award merchant, offering 30 one-hour Thai massages at just HK$80 (down from the original price of HK$400) along with a number of other special deals to those who can show they¡¦ve been spending money to boost the Hong Kong economy.
The "We Love HK" campaign was created by the Tourism Coalition of Hong Kong, which comprises members of the tourism industry, including the Board of Airline Representatives, Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners, Hong Kong Hotels Association and Travel Industry Council.
