Legislator hails taxis to join "We Love HK" campaign

Miriam Lau, Legco Member for the Transport Constituency, together with Charles Tran, Chairman of Hong Kong Taxi and Public Light Bus Association and Cheng Hak Wo, President of Taxi Dealers & Owners Association, aim to get more taxi drivers behind the "We Love HK" campaign by handing out promotion stickers for cabs.
They will be at the Star Ferry, Central, taxi stand at 1pm on Saturday.
The dedicated campaign Website www.welovehongkong.com has also been revamped, with a new look and the ability for traders who wish to take part to register online. Registered merchants will also be able to update details about their offers at any time, making it much easier for anyone to take part.
Among today's latest offers, Sri Lankan Airlines has 100 return tickets to Colombo for $1,000 each. Ma Belle jewellery boutique announced that the first 200 customers to make a diamond purchase of $2,000 or above will get a discount of $1,000. Any customer after that will get $500 off a diamond purchase of $3,000 or more and a $1,000 saving on a diamond purchase more than $5,000.
The Peak Tower Limited has a "buy one get one free" promotion for Ripley's Believe It Or Not!® Odditorium and the Peak Explorer Motion Simulator.
Toys "R" Us will provide free delivery with any $1,000 outdoor product purchase. It will also give a Vivitar Mariner Camera for $79.90 with any purchase, a free football when you buy a Barbie or Spiderman bike, and 20 percent off all Spalding footballs and basketballs while stocks last.
Both the Arrow and Manhattan menswear stores are offering 20 percent discounts, and Kakimond Fashion is giving 10 percent off. The Green & Tea House is offering a 10 percent storewide reduction.

PCCW is continuing to operate a hotline 1836 168 that people can call with any question about the campaign - how it works, who is taking part, where to redeem special offers. The hotline will operate 9.00am to 5.00pm daily.
The "We Love HK" campaign was created by the Tourism Coalition of Hong Kong, which comprises members of the tourism industry, including the Board of Airline Representatives, Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners, Hong Kong Hotels Association and Travel Industry Council.
