Cathay Pacific flight update
05 Sep 2001
Cathay Pacific Airways today announced its operations have remained stable throughout the day despite reports of the possible escalation of industrial action by its pilots' union.
Up to 5:00pm, approximately 70% of the 107 sectors operated have departed within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time. Most of the delays today were related to the poor weather conditions in Hong Kong. Data from a selection of other major airlines shows on-time performance for the year-to-date of between 65% and 85%.
So far today just three Cathay Pacific flights have experienced delays of more than 60 minutes. These have all been due to technical reasons and aircraft rotation. There have been no flight cancellations.
