Cathay Pacific flight update

05 Jul 2001

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced that 45 of its flights experienced delays of 15 minutes or more yesterday, Wednesday, 4 July. This was out of a total 130 flights. As of 10.30 am today, Thursday, 5 July, a further five flights have been delayed by 15 minutes or more. Some of these delays appear to have been caused by industrial action initiated by the pilots' union. The airline is looking closely into these flights to fully establish the facts.

Cathay Pacific will continue to monitor the situation and keep its passengers fully updated on the situation.

Cathay Pacific's Director Corporate Development Tony Tyler said: "We sincerely apologise to our passengers for any inconvenience being caused by these flight delays."

Cathay Pacific recommends that passengers should call the following passenger enquiry hotlines before going to the airport in order to obtain the latest information. The hotlines will remain open between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm until further notice.
