Cathay Pacific flight update
(Updated as of HKT1800, 5 July 2001)

05 Jul 2001

Cathay Pacific Airways announced that as of 4:00pm today a total of 34 of its flights had experienced delays of 15 minutes or more. This has been out of a total of 135 flights scheduled for today. Some of these delays appear to have been caused by industrial action initiated by the pilots' union. The airline is undertaking an investigation into a number of these flights to fully establish the facts.

Cathay Pacific will continue to monitor the situation and endeavour to keep its passengers fully updated.

The airline recommends that passengers should call the following passenger enquiry hotlines before going to the airport in order to obtain the latest flight information:

Chinese-language hotline: 2747 8888
English-language hotline: 2747 8999
