Cathay Pacific puts more information in customers

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced the launch of its Downloadable Trip Planner for owners of Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and Internet-enabled phones. With the free client software from AvantGo, Inc., a leading provider of mobile infrastructure software and services, users can access the complete Cathay Pacific flight schedule, notiFLY
Flight Paging service, Marco Polo Club account balance, and the airline's worldwide contact information anytime and anywhere.
The AvantGo mobile Internet service provides free interactive and personalised content and applications to more than 2.5 million people with handheld devices based on the Palm OS and Pocket PC/Windows CE platforms, as well as Internet-enabled mobile phones. Using a wireless, real-time connection or via desktop synchronisation, AvantGo users can access the Web directly from their mobile devices or select from over 1,000 content and application channels, such as Cathay Pacific, which have been optimised for the smaller mobile screens.
The Downloadable Trip Planner is updated in the middle of every month to reflect schedule changes, new telephone numbers, and additional service information. To register for the free service users simply follow the links from the airline's Website - www.cathaypacific.com
. The Trip Planner was previously only available for laptop and desktop computers.

This new service is just one of the many new e-Business offerings from Cathay Pacific in recent months. Last week the airline announced important enhancements to both its Online Booking and Online Check-In services. Passengers can now select their favourite seats from an interactive on-screen seat map when they check-in online. The map displays all the available seats for passengers. Even when seats were assigned at the time of reservation they can be changed online.
Online Check-In gives passengers the confidence of knowing they have a confirmed seat 48 hours in advance, saving them valuable time before departure. As a special promotion until the end of July passengers who purchase tickets at www.cathaypacific.com
