Cathay Pacific offers "Best Chinese Food in the Air"

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced a new promotion offering passengers a selection of dishes from some of Hong Kong's most famous Chinese restaurants. The "Best Chinese Food in the Air" starts on 1 October with dishes from the internationally acclaimed Yung Kee Restaurant. The Yung Kee dishes will be served on Cathay Pacific's 48 flights from Hong Kong for a period of six months.
Sauteed Prawn with Kung Po SauceOver 30 different dishes specially prepared by Yung Kee will be featured over the period, including the restaurant's signature roast goose. Others dishes include the highly renowned braised goose and taro with Chu Hou sauce, and braised chicken with abalone. The dishes will be complemented by choice wines from Cathay Pacific's wine list. After the six-month period another restaurant will be featured.
To celebrate the launch of the promotion, a commemorative gift will be given to all Cathay Pacific passengers leaving Hong Kong on the first three days of October. During this same period, diners at the Yung Kee Restaurant in Central will also be able to order the Yung Kee dishes featured in the "Best Chinese Food in the Air" menu. The restaurant will also run a series of lucky draws.

Hong Kong's Chinese food is famous the world over for its quality and diversity, and we are sure this promotion will bring that fact home to our millions of passengers. We have the great pleasure to work with Yung Kee, a restaurant brand known throughout Hong Kong for its prize-winning dishes."

Last year, Cathay Pacific served 17 million meals, 1.1 million bottles of wine, and 1.2 million cans of beer to its passengers. The airline's catering team aims to provide enjoyable and nutritious meals to all passengers.
Panfried Beef Fillet with Tomato and Onion SauceYung Kee, which specialises in roast goose, has been one of Hong Kong's best-known restaurants in since the 1960s. In 1968, it was the only Chinese restaurant featured in Fortune magazines' list of the 15 best restaurants in the world. Yung Kee has continued to gather international awards ever since, and has regularly been ranked among Hong Kong's best restaurants by the Hong Kong Tourist Association.
