Cathay Pacific to operate four extra flights to Taiwan

Cathay Pacific Airways will operate four additional return flights between Hong Kong and Taipei tomorrow, Wednesday 23 August, to replace the flights which were disrupted by the approach of Typhoon Bilis today. The additional flights are on top of Cathay Pacific's normal schedule of 12 return flights between Hong Kong and Taipei. The typhoon is still approaching Taiwan and may lead to further disruption tomorrow.

As Cathay Pacific did not leave any of its aircraft overnight in Taiwan, a number of its early flights out of Taipei will also be delayed.

Cathay Pacific has opened a special information hotline to help passengers find out the latest status of their flights. Passengers booked on Cathay Pacific flights from Hong Kong to Taipei today or tomorrow should call the following hotline numbers before departing for the airport. The hotline will close at 11:00pm tonight and reopen at 6:30am tomorrow.

The disruption to four Cathay Pacific flights today affected almost 1,000 booked passengers. These passengers will be transferred to tomorrow's additional flights.
